Some customers actually prefer it that way. The suncatcher looks beautiful even without light, but any natural light will bring out some color.

Acrylic is much more forgiving than glass—it won't warp, crack, or get damaged by occasional steam or humidity. That said, if you're hanging it directly above a steaming shower or right over a boiling pot, the constant moisture might affect the adhesive or hanging mechanism over time. A kitchen window near the sink? Perfectly fine. A bathroom window with good ventilation? Great. Just avoid spots where it's getting blasted with steam daily.

Acrylic is basically shatterproof—unlike stained glass, it won't break into dangerous pieces if it falls. If your kids yank it down, worst case is it hits the floor and maybe gets a scratch. That said, it's not a toy, and little hands with sticky fingers will leave prints that dull the effect. Our suggestion: hang it high enough that toddlers can't reach it, but where they can still see the colors dance on the walls.

That said, nothing lasts forever in direct blazing sun 8 hours a day, but you're looking at years, not months.
